What I do

I am a freelance writer published online and in print. Some bylines include Stylist, gal-dem, Metro, Soho House, and Time Out.

I work as an editor for Metro UK's Platform section and guest edited for gal-dem on the series I created: The Passage That Changed Me.

I have been a host and a speaker for various in-person and virtual events. Selected clients: Sevenstore and Nike, Beats by Dre, Dazed, Mubi, I Like Networking, and Manchester International Festival.

I host my own events regularly too - surrounding the art of personal writing, storytelling and getting to the heart of who we are and what we feel. I am also the co-host of Close Up with Aurelia Magazine, a warm, funny and often existential podcast that gets personal. Our first season is now streaming on all platforms.

I was really pleased to be a longlist judge for The Portico Prize - a biennial award for the book that best evokes the spirit of the North of England. I have been a guest on panels, podcasts, and news shows.

Aurelia Magazine

As the Editor-in-Chief of Aurelia (currently on hiatus), my mission is to spotlight and uplift the personal stories of marginalised genders whilst nurturing a community that is welcoming, full of hope and encourages feeling.

Some of our partners include ASOS, Converse, FACT Liverpool, Royal Exchange Theatre, Festival of Debate and Everpress.

Some of our press mentions include The Independent, Manchester's Finest, Each Other, and Huck. We were nominated for a National Diversity Award and were specially commended by the Freelance Writing Awards for Freelance Project of the Year.
